If you are interested in trialling (competing) in a performance sport, your dog will need to be registered with the ANKC and you will need to be a member of Dogs Victoria (state body of the ANKC). Links to the relevant information and forms on the Dogs Victoria website are below.

Have discussion with members that trial or are on committee if you want to know more about trialling. We have all been there with questions, nerves and no idea and are here to help and can provide advice on how to join Dogs Victoria, entering trials and what to expect when you are at a trial.
One great way of learning what trialling is all about is to attend a trial or trials before you enter one. You can talk to people attending, watch the dogs work and even see if your dog is comfortable and happy in a trial environment.
Probably the most important thing to do before trialling is to READ THE RULES! You need to know and understand the rules of your chosen sport. Each discipline has it's own set of rules on how a trial must be run and is clear on what you are required to complete to pass at the trial. A link to the ANKC rules is posted below.

Information on when trials are being held can be found in a number of places:

www.vicdog.com - has trial calendar and also schedules for Obedience, Rally, Tracking, Track & Search, Endurance and more.
Applicatiion for Club Trophy:
Our Club loves to celebrate and recognise the achievements of our members. We do this mostly through displaying title photos on our clubroom walls. For eligible disciplines, title awards/trophys are also presented at our AGM each year.
All ANKC Performance Sport disciplines are eligible for club recognition on the clubroom walls.
Performance Sport disciplines that are eligible for award/trophy is limited to those which a dog of ANY breed or cross breed can enter. For example Herding is restricted to herding breeds only so is eligible for the photo at Club, but not a trophy.
Should you have success trialling during the year (1st Jan - 31st Dec) and gained a title, please click on the trophy picture and complete the title application and submit along with a photo of the dog.
Photos need to be of high enough resolution to be printed in A4 size.
